The Most Underutilized Supplements on the Market

Peak Nutrition Hierarchy Of Needs

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs tells us that there are five categories of human needs that dictate a person’s ability to achieve self-actualization i.e. achieve their full potential as human beings.

The most basic human needs are physiological needs, which cover all of the no-brainers: nutrition, water, sleep, sex, etc.

The same applies to supplements as well. Before advancing to supplements like pre-workout, protein powders, and BCAAs, it’s important that your body is getting its most basic needs met first. We made this in an easy to follow format with our own supplement focused Hierarchy of Needs! Similar to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, the foundation is the most important piece to help you achieve your fitness goals – and the most often overlooked products, due to the “boring” nature of them.

Understanding the importance of a strong foundation is step one in reaching those goals.

So, what are the most underutilized supplements on the market that you should be taking to meet your foundational needs?

Daily Multivitamins & Fish Oil

Why Do I Need A Daily Mulitvitamin?

Multivitamins are jam-packed with crucial vitamins your body needs to function at its peak.

Remember that supplements are meant to supplement a healthy diet, and the majority of your nutrition should be ingested from food.

However, a study done by Oregon State University discovered that:

  • 93 percent of adults in the U.S. do not get the required levels of vitamins D and E from food alone
  • 61 percent do not get enough magnesium
  • 50 percent do not get enough vitamin A and calcium.

Do you consistently get 5 to 6 servings of fruits and vegetables a day? If not, a daily mutli-vitamin supplement is going to be your new best friend.

Why Do I Need Fish Oil?

Fish Oil is a dietary supplement that contains Omega-3 fatty acids. These are vital for many bodily functions, including the brain, vision, muscle activity, and cell growth.

The problem is, our bodies cannot produce omega-3 on its own, which is why we need to consume it from external sources.

Omega-3 fatty acids can be found in sardines, tuna, salmon, and even walnuts! But how often are we eating these sources of omega-3’s regularly? Not often enough!

This is why we recommend supplementing your diet with a good Fish Oil supplement.

Check out some of these benefits from taking Fish Oil:

  • Improves memory
  • Reduced Inflammation
  • Decreases risk of depression and dementia
  • Helps prevent heart disease and stroke
  • Helps improve cholesterol levels and high blood pressure
  • Supports vision and eye health

We always recommend checking with your healthcare provider first to see if any supplements are right for you.

And if they are, our expert staff at Peak Nutrition is here to help you choose the right Daily Multivitamin and Fish Oil supplement!
