Peak Nutrition is proud to have built a community of exceptional people with exceptional stories.

We’re so excited to introduce a new blog series called “Peak Community Member Spotlights,” where we feature an outstanding member of the Peak Nutrition community who truly embodies our slogan: “Raise Your Standard.”

Everybody, meet Shane!

Tell us about yourself! Name and a small background of your personal story.

Shane Siebold from Gilbert Arizona.

I was born with one kidney, so anything including physical activity was always a no-go for me due to the risk of injury. As a kid, I was never allowed to play sports, exercise, or even take P.E. in school because they thought it was an insurance risk.

I was a casual gym-goer but had no idea what I was doing when it came to working out or nutrition. I was weighing 215 lbs with no goals or aspirations and knew I needed to make a change for my own well-being.

About two years ago, I walked into my friend’s gym and signed up for a membership so I had a gym partner or someone to hold me accountable. A year after starting my journey, I weighed 154 lbs with a total weight loss of 61 pounds. This was an amazing accomplishment for me because I stuck to this journey and didn’t let life get me down.

I maintained this weight for about 6 months but continued going to the gym and watching my nutrition. When COVID hit and the gyms closed, I knew I needed to do something or I would go back to my old ways of binge eating, so I created an Instagram account to hold myself accountable to ensure I was continuing my progress and being creative with at-home workouts!

Now I am on my way of gaining lean body mass and putting on size. Through Instagram, I found the fitness community in Arizona and with this connection I was able to make friends who had similar interests in fitness and nutrition!

How did you first hear about Peak Nutrition?

If anyone knows me, I volunteer a lot because I am a firm believer in giving my time to those who need it. I was invited to a fundraising event with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where a raffle was being held, one of the prizes was a 1st Phorm supplement stack sponsored by Peak Nutrition.

I decided why not, and bought some raffle tickets for that prize. I was the lucky winner and won a stack from them! When I went into the store, I was welcomed in and educated on the supplements I was being given. At this time, I had no idea what the difference was between a Whey Protein Isolate and Sustained Assimilated Protein. The team was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Since then, I have become a regular.

What supplements have you taken, and what postitive results have you seen from them?

Supplements I have taken are pre-workouts, greens/reds, whey protein, isolate protein, post-workout glucose, daily vitamins, and protein bars. Peak has helped me learn how to use the supplements I was using for weight loss to help me gain muscle mass!

In what ways have fitness and nutrition positively impacted your life?

Fitness and nutrition impacted my life greatly. It has shaped and formed the person I have become today.

I feel like in society, fitness and nutrition are not talked about for the positives, but only to fit the description of a person in a magazine. Fitness and nutrition have shown me that it is for everyone and is a lot of fun if you are willing to put in the work.

Through Instagram, I found the fitness community in Arizona, and with this connection, I was able to make friends who had similar interests in fitness and nutrition.

What’s the biggest change you’ve seen within yourself since you started your journey?

I could say that the biggest change I have seen is the physical attributes, but that would be a complete lie. The physical changes that have occurred were only able to happen because I mentally changed as well.

Before I started my journey, if something was hard, I would quit. Now if something is hard, I tackle it head-on and say, “Bring it!”

My confidence, happiness, and overall attitude have been the biggest changes. Before, I was a negative person who always thought the worst thing that could happen would happen. Through this journey, I learned that the worst thing would happen because I would let it happen! Now I can see the positive aspects of every negative event.

As the saying goes “Every Rose has its thorn”, that same thorn also has a rose.

What keeps you motivated? What is your “WHY?”

Those who watch in silence or in objection are what keeps me motivated. When I first started my journey, I was intimidated by the gym because of the stereotypical gym-goers. However, I soon realized that they were in the gym for the same reason I was, to be better than I was yesterday.

My “WHY” is to help those who are intimidated to go to the gym or start their journey. I want to ensure people know they have a friend in the gym. The gym, nutrition, and starting a health journey can be intimidating, but they are not alone in it.

If you could describe the Peak Nutrition community in 3 words what would they be?

If I could describe the Peak Nutrition Community in 3 words, it would be their slogan, “Raise Your Standard”. This perfectly sums up everyone in the community because regardless of where you are at or where you come from, everyone strives to be better than yesterday.

I have been a part of the community for about a year and within that year I have seen nothing but growth from every person I have come in contact with that is a part of the Peak Nutrition Community.
